No problem. See the patch attached to SF #1409538, which should address
both this and SF #1409544, and incorporates your testja.py test case.

This passes with 214 tests on Python 2.1 through 2.3 with no third party
codecs, and 216 tests on Python 2.4 and 2.5 with the built-in codecs.
Please let me know what you think -- if it looks good, I'll apply it to
all email package versions and close both issues.
