I think we should see RuPy as a more local conference. There is room 
enough for local events. I'd be nice if they could announce EuroPython 
to their attendees so, as it's in the neighborhood next year.

I think they're already are set to go; they announced the whole thing 
and so on. Asking them to stop doesn't sound ideal. But perhaps we can 
still benefit from the energy they'll generate in the region.
