Exactly that, but with no Darth Vader, R2D2, or Luke Skywalker ;)

I was thinking about beer-speech and not presentation-speech.
I only go to friend's presentations to cheer when they do badly
and Boo when they do well. I have bood you several times.

I missed you on the speaker's list. I am looking forward to
seeing you again.

And in such a remote location! (for this American, anyway),

Hello.

I am register online at 30 may, and have got ordet (RC3185736).
I made payment by bank transfer at early June (2-3), and supply order
number in payment detail. How I can know -- are my payment was accepted or not?

Many thanks,
Alex.

Hello,

I've registered to Europython 2008 conference at 30th June and received order number RC3334670. However, I chose to pay by cash since I wasn't sure about payment option by that time.

Now I have my attendance in Europython 2008 approved by my employee (UAB Bite Lietuva), so I would like to ask, what payment options are still available. As I understand, there are three options:

1. Pay online by corporate credit card.
2. Make international money transfer to EuroPython Society.
3. Pay by cash on the door.

I think for my company first option (pay online by corporate credit card) would be proffered. However, since 30th June (last day of online registration with normal 160 EUR rate) has already passed (and in http://registration.europython.eu/ it still talks about 4th July as the last day, not 30th June), I would like to ask if this payment option is still available. If yes, can I just reregister and choose an option "Pay by credit card"?

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

I've just setup a twitter account for the conference. If you are on
twitter you can use this to stay uptodate:

http://twitter.com/europython

All blog posts and streaming updates will be posted there as well as
other information.

I've also setup 4 ustream shows for each individual room. This is also
again a call for people who can help with streaming. Right now we
probably can only stream 1-2 rooms at a time (if bandwidth works out)
because of lack of people and equipment. So if you want to help (even
just by controlling the camera and starting/stopping the stream), please
contact me!

See in Vilnius!

Hi,

if someone is interested/involved in CACert, I'd be happy to do some Web
of Trust work (assuring others or let myself get assured).

If you don't know what CACert is, visit cacert.org. In few words: it's a
free (as in speech) approach to build a respectable (SSL) certificate
authority.

eGenix EuroPython 2008 Presentations & Videos

________________________________________________________________________

We have uploaded our EuroPython 2008 presentations to our website.

Learn the concepts behind the Python DB-API and how to design
large-scale applications.

This announcement is also available on our web-site for online reading:

________________________________________________________________________

INTRODUCTION

The EuroPython Conference is the one of the premier conferences for
Python & Zope users and developers. This year it was being held from
the 7th to 9th July in Vilnius, Lithuania.

eGenix was one of the founding members of the EuroPython conference
team and played a major role in organizing the first EuroPython
conference in the year 2002.

Since then we have attended every EuroPython conference to meet up
face-to-face with the people from the Python & Zope communities and
have given regular talks at these conferences.

________________________________________________________________________

TALKS AT EUROPYTHON 2008

We gave the following two talks at the conference. The presentations
are available for viewing and download from our Presentations and
Talks section:

         http://www.egenix.com/library/presentations/

As special feature, we have added talk videos in addition to providing
the slide PDFs. You can view the talks online if you have the Adobe
Flash Player 8 or later installed.

* Using the Python Database API

The Python Database API (DB-API) is a specification of a module
interface that allows interfacing from Python to a relational database.

The talk gives a high-level introduction to the concepts used in the
Python DB-API and relational databases in general. Connection, cursors
and transactions are discussed, and their use in Python database
applications is explained.

* Designing Large-Scale Applications in Python

Python is widely and somewhat inaccurately referred to as a scripting
language. While Python is an ideal platform for small scripting tasks,
it does in fact cover all the concepts needed for large scale object
oriented application development. However, complex applications bring
different challenges.

This talk draws on eGenix' many years experience with large scale
application development using Python as central implementation language
and provides a cookbook approach to many of the the problems you face
when designing and organizing complex application frameworks.

Enjoy,

Message-ID: <1216739256.9955.48.camel@mindy>

Hi,

as I noticed in the Wiki and from talking to some people, there was some
interest in getting notified when we put our IMAP API code out.

I just uploaded the current code as a pre-Alpha 0.1 experimental (yadda
yadda) release to pypi:

http://pypi.python.org/pypi/gocept.imapapi/0.1

If anyone is interested in joining this effort, please talk to me
directly.
