Hi Guido,

Snow Hill might be the closest station but Birmingham New Street is the  
main station in Birmingham. You are best off getting the Tube to Euston  
(about 45 minutes) where you can get the train to New Street. You will  
have to buy separate tickets for the Tube and the train but you will be  
able to buy them at the stations.

http://nationalrail.co.uk is the website for train travel in the UK -  
takes about 2 hours 30 minutes.
