Initial Comment:
When I ran make command, nothing happened.  It just returned the prompt.  I just continued to run 
make install and got errors:
cc -o xmlwf -static xmlwf.o xmlfile.o codepage.o unixfilemap.o -L../lib/.libs -lexpat
cc: -a conflicts with -dy.
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `xmlwf'
Current working directory /tmp/expat-1.95.2/xmlwf
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `install'

Please help.  Thank you.

I believe this has been fixed in the CVS version of Expat,
and in the upcoming 1.95.3 release. Please try one of those
copies, and if problems persist, then reopen this bug.
