I'll be taking a look at this next.

The "check" unit testing support appears to be getting abandoned.  If
anyone has any pointers to open source unit test support for C, I'd
really appreciate it.

I've no idea how portable "check" is to Windows; I'd like to end up
with something that works both on Windows and Unix.
