[I18n-sig] gettext and distutils

Hello,

this is probably a FAQ or somewhere in the docs, but I can't find it...

What's the correct way to deal with l10n files (.po / .mo) with gettext
and distutils (setup.py), please?

All the gettext docs assume automake, and the distutils docs don't
mention i18n...


It would be nice if it would work under both Linux and MS Windows, too.
