[PYTHON IMAGE-SIG] tkinter without tkappinit.c ?

Is there a way to avoid linking tkappinit.c in _tkinter module ?
I've got problems with _tkinter.so using tix (some tix elements dont
work).

Once I read something about avoiding tkappinit.c - but don't
remember how it was.
