[Image-SIG] Getting Pixel Colors from a Canvas

Hi

I'm trying to find a way to get pixel colors back from a canvas with
MacPython (MacOS 9), and got lost in de enormous variety of modules.

Is ist possible that there is such a variety of functions and methods but
nothing like "getpixel(x,y)"?
