This occurred to me as well but given the enthusiasm of the Chennai folks, I
think we'd have a better conference if it was there. Gut feel really. Apart
from the familiarity reason, are there any other concrete ones for the 2
years in one city rule?

Sep/Oct is fine. I think once we have a couple of meetings, discuss some
ideas, we can beat the thing into shape. However, your warning about jumping
into things is very sound. I reappy think we should make this a big event
this time and rope in good sponsors. Google is one thing that comes to mind
and Anand C. had an awesome suggestion about talking to the FOSSEE people to
see if they can get the Govt. to atleast partly sponsor this. If we have an
event that's sponsored by the Govt., it'd do wonders for the language
publicity and adoption. I really think we should try.

I think it's great if other events have some Python stuff going on in them.
However, there should be just one official PyCon in India and most (if not
all) the Pythonistas should support it.
