Hello everyone,
This is the overall idea in my mind about the sponsorships. Please comment.
Total costs:
- Food costs for two days for around 200 people comes to around
50000 INR (30000 INR meals + 16000 snacks) [This is based on numbers I
got from Anand]
- The venue and wifi are already taken care of by IISc.
- Swag. T shirts etc. will come to around (say) 50000 (200 T shirts
at 200 INR per T shirt + 10k for anything else)
- There *might* be some miscellaneous infrastructure costs (mic.
etc.). A ballpark number is 30000 INr
This means that the total cost comes to around 50000 + 50000 + 30000 =
130000 INR.
It would be easiest to try to get sponsors look after individual items
(ie. One guy for food, one guy for snacks etc.). If we can get a list
of companies which we can approach, it might also make sense to split
this equally amongst all the companies (ie. If we are planning to talk
to 5 companies, we pitch around 26k to each).
I met with Anand yesterday for the F2F and he brought up a very
valid point that our aim with calling companies should be to maximise
participation of companies who are really interested in Python and not
just to raise funds. In this regard, it would be nice to have a list
companies we can approach. The total amount is there above. We need to
split this amongst the companies we're going to talk to. Here are the
ones I can think of.
Companies interested in Python:
- ZeOmega (Baiju can be a contact here)
- Tachyon (Anand C.)
- Global analytics (Anand C.)
- Cisco (Noufal)
- Mahiti
Please reply to the list letting us know what you think about this.
I think this can be a starting point for the actual sponsorship
brochure a draft of which vida has put ont he wiki.
Thanks.
