That was really an ugly patch. You wouldn't like to have it in upstream.

I thought of doing the right way, using Flask-Mail. But it looks like
too much effort. So I copied the sendmail code from web.py, added it
as a module and used it to send email.

I'll try the Flask-Mail way and send you a pull request. Or you want
something that works first?
