+1 to that Anand. But somewhere, I understand the sentiment of not having
speakers pay. Especially when we have student speakers, for whom money is
tight. I remember a couple conferences which gave speakers free entry,
which
enabled me, then in my UG years to speak and learn at conferences which I
doubt I'd have been able to even attend, given the costs, otherwise.

Then again, as the article mentions, that's more suitable for corporate
oriented confs. There is probably a better way, such as student discounts,
to tackle the issue better.

Would love to have more thoughts on this...
