I haven't been able to see the problem at all.  If you happen to see
it, could you then try to enable logging?  If at that point calling
logstart doesn't work anymore, perhaps doing directly

_ip.magic("logstart ...")

might still work.

Having a log of the previous input in a session with the problem might
help us understand what's going on.
