These args end up being passed to Popen, which will only handle shell-style
piping if called with shell=True. Looking at the code, I think you need to
override the .start() method. You can either send the file to the
subprocess' stdin yourself (see
http://docs.python.org/library/subprocess.html#replacing-shell-pipeline ),
or you can use Popen with shell=True (and pass the command as a string).
