It is actually a dark purple ;-)
I don't remember Ubuntu's standard terminal having a light background by
default. You get a light background if you start xterm, but the standard
GNOME terminal is dark (as is Konsole on Kubuntu).
I wonder if it's possible to design a colour set that is legible on either
background? A significant amount of LightBG works on a dark background, so
it should be possible, if a bit more bland.
