[IPython-dev] Participants view

Hi all,

I've implemented a proof-of-concept for an "active users" or
participants viewer a-la-Google Docs:

When running this branch, you should see a side panel that displays a
list of all users that connected to the notebook.  It is still very
basic, but now that the infrastructure is in place, we can come up
with ideas as to exactly what should be displayed and how.  Let me
know!
