[IPython-dev] Using turtle and print with Notebook

I'd like to use Notebook with a serious of lessons I'm writing to use 
turtle to take beginners from simple shapes to a full blown gui and all 
the bits in between.
Most of it works well in Notebook but if events on the turtle screen run 
print statements then they 'queue up until one runs a python action in 
one of the code cell when all the queued prints show up beneath.
Is there any way of getting these to appear as they arrive?
