[IPython-dev] Odd notebook layout on Windows

Hi all,

I'm teaching a class this week, and some class members have installed Jupyter on their Windows machines (from the Continuum distribution).

One person has his notebooks appearing in the oddest way. Instead of the numbered prompt appearing to the left of the code area, it appears above it and right-justified! When he places the cursor into the editable code area it acts as though the prompt were in the correct location, so the cursor is actually about an inch to the right of the position where a character appears when he types.

The code cell, instead of being offset from the left margin, is pushed over to the margin.

We have re-installed to eliminate finger trouble as a cause of the problem, which alas remains at the end of Day 1.

Any help or even suggestions welcome!
