[IronPython] Visual Studio Express Editions

Actually, to run IronPython, all you need is the .NET 2.0 runtime. .NET SDK (an additional download) is enough to compile/develop IronPython.

Yes, a .NET SDK is enough, but some people like to use VS as an IDE.
