Dear Vincent,

I am very pleased with the open source SharpDevelop IDE. The windows
designer works great. You can code in C# and IronPython in a Visual Studio
like IDE.

SharpDevelop is written in C# and is for the Windows platform. There is a
stable community around SharpDevelop and of course forums with a lot of
help. You find it here: http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SD/

There are still some problems debugging windows programs, which can be
worked around. As a default SharpDevelop generates compiled python
(exe-files) when debugging, which are solved with some tweeks. The
instructions to change it are to be found on SharpDevelops forum.

Here is a review of IDEs for
IronPyhton<http://www.voidspace.org.uk/ironpython/tools-and-ides.shtml>
.
