[Ironpython-users] Vedr: Vedr: issue with ironpython and silverlight

Hmmm...I tried to run it both in IE and Chrome (The strange thing is that for the supplied link it works well for both of them) when I download it, and when I try to run it locally (or from iis or chiron) it does not. Even when I change the url so it should point to the mail address where a version which is working is located, it does not work. Could it be something with my version of windows? (but that does not explain why the remote one, 
 http://www.voidspace.org.uk/ironpython/minimal2/index.html does work)

Sounds like it might be a problem with your Intranet security zone settings in IE (assuming you are using IE).

We use IP in Silverlight, but it is a secondary compilation target (WPF is primary). It still works as far as I know.

Yes, I suspected that. My last silverlight installation is 5, and my last .net 4.5 (ofcourse, I got into this "since it doesn't work, let me try to install everything" trap).

What puzzles me is; If a view the silverlight xpa file from the web, it does work. If I download it, (and the associated files) and try to run the files from my computer, it don't! I don't understand why, after all, most of it seems like a zip file and some js files.

It could be a versioning issue; check what version of SL you have, and what version(s) you're building against. 

Honestly, SL is a barely maintained; it never had a good test infrastructure, and nobody has stepped up to provide support for it.
