Initial Comment:
mailman's web interface rejects emails that start with
a dash.
I.E. -username at domain.tld

Running 2.1.1 on RH9

error message:
Error subscribing: -test at domain.tld -- Hostile address
(illegal characters)

According to RFC2822 this should be a valid email
address.  (If I read it correctly)
