[Mailman-Developers] monthly reminder bounce remedies

As mailman-owner I get a large number of bounces every month from password
reminder messages with Mailman 1.1. The vast majority of these are for
people whose subscription state has already been set to nomail. Is there
already an automated way of dealing with these?

If not...

Would it be reasonable to set an (optional?) age limit for how long someone
could be in the "nomail" state and still be "subscribed"? The mailpasswords
cron job could "age" them and eventually delete them. The only drawback
I've thought of is that it would periodically unsubscribe people that had
subscribed just to check archives or mailing list membership (which may not
be a bad thing :-). (Or visiting the web page resets their aging?)

The alternative would seem to be to process the bounces from the reminders and
(after a couple) remove the subscriber.
