Support the RFCs. If there are endemic options, support them (but, IMHO, add
an RFC-only option.. Grin). Please, don't encourage too many NON RFC
compliant options, it only encourages folks to roll their own and not moove
to the RFCs.  Just because others choose to not support the RFCs isn't an
excuse for us to cooperate...
