I would like to see the evidence of this claim.
I've been doing mail systems for over ten years, and I used to be
the Sr. Internet Mail Administrator for AOL. I can't imagine how
they could be doing this sort of thing short of using their
equivalent of personalization mode, which defeats the purpose of a
mailing list.
