Wouldn't it be better to introduce '--urlhost=' option and keep '@' for 
backward compatibility?

$ bin/newlist --urlhost=www.dom.ain listname
$ bin/newlist listname at www.dom.ain

We need no hurry for release of 2.1.6 is not yet scheduled. ;-)
