I do this for some lists I run, but by using SWISH-E as a search engine. 
Once you're indexing the archive, it's simple to turn it into a feed 
that includes feeding on a search term ... or just a plain old 
"everything" feed.

Is there any interest in the Mailman project for 'optional features' to 
be added?  I'd be happy to providing a cookbook or maybe even patches to 
configure et al.
