What happens if you
bzr branch http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~msapiro/mailman/cull_bad_shunt
?
When I do this, either in my shared repository or in a fresh
directory. I get only 2 revisions.

What about in a pristine branch?

Does it? It looks weird to me. For example, why all the renamed
files in rev 1074?
