The demo server shows
https://lists.stg.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/2014/8/
The "8" seems to represent a month, but having a two digit month in
the URL would bring it closer to the ISO 8601 format.
Two digit month can be seen in various places:
https://fedorahosted.org/hyperkitty/
shows URLs for blogs:

http://blog.linuxgrrl.com/2012/03/13/mailman-brainstorm/
http://blog.linuxgrrl.com/2012/03/14/mailman-brainstorm-2/
Same style is used by some blog hosting services, e.g. google for
- wordpress.com 2014/01/01
- blogspot.com 2014/01
Some newspaper store it that way, google for
- nytimes.com 2014/01/01
- washingtonpost.com 2014/01/01
