I've hacked mailman to do exactly that.  There are probably good
reasons to not allow inserting random mail headers but that didn't
stop me. :)  The patches are for v1.1, although I think they work
on v1.0 also.  I don't know if it's appropriate to just post them
to this list, but I'd be happy to mail them to anyone who wants
them.
