I went to compile the CVS current copy from a few minutes ago. The
file common.c has the following compiler error on BSD/OS 4.0:

gmake[1]: Entering directory `/u/sources/local/email/mailman-cvs/mailman/src'
gcc -c -I. -DPREFIX="\"/opt/mailman\"" -DPYTHON="\"/usr/contrib/bin/python\"" -DHELPFUL -g -O2 -DHAVE_STRERROR=1 -DHAVE_SETREGID=1 -DSTDC_HEADERS=1 -DHAVE_SYSLOG_H=1 -DGETGROUPS_T=gid_t -DHAVE_VPRINTF=1 ./common.c
./common.c: In function `run_script':
./common.c:145: `logident' undeclared (first use this function)
./common.c:145: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
./common.c:145: for each function it appears in.)
gmake[1]: *** [common.o] Error 1
gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/u/sources/local/email/mailman-cvs/mailman/src'

It is not clear to me what the proper string here should be, perhaps
it should be the variable 'script'?

I configured with "./configure --prefix=/opt/mailman --with-mail-gid=nogroup"
