Dear Nelly

I have downloaded the Wessely article but not read it yet so don't yet
share your anger at its content.

I have another thought though - I would ALWAYS prefer to know what's going
on so did value COCURE posting it. It's about sharing information, not
agreeing with it.

Hope you are doing as well as possible.

Best wishes

Alexa

Carolyn,

My understanding (from my GP, my Naturopath, and the reading I've done) is
that it's really only glucose (and unnatural sweeteners) that people with
FMS need to reduce. Fructose is fine. Eat as much fruit as you want and you
can even use fructose (buy it at the health food shop) instead of 'sugar' in
cakes and drinks etc. It's much sweeter than normal sugar and so you use
less of it too. It just takes a while to get the proportions worked out.

Gentle hugs,
Eva :-)

Hi Everyone,
I have sent a copy of the article to several people on the list. When Joanne
put a copy up on her web page I thought it would be a good idea to suggest to
those who didnt get a copy from me to see it there. If you cant access the url,
I will happily send it direct just let me know.
hugs
Lynda

G'day all...

I'm very pleased to say that my condition has progressed enough for me
not to consider myself as a person living with CFS/ME anymore. =)

I suffered from CFS/ME for over ten years, and now the painful challenge
is finally drawing to a close.

I am now well enough again to enter the workforce, and am now an analyst
programmer for Cerner, a company which produces hospital management
software.

Fortuneately for me, I eventually found a good and understanding doctor.
Also, I take Herbalife which has helped me immensely, and keeps me well
(if you want to talk to me about the products - contact me personally -
FWIW, I don't sell them and don't profit financially at all from it.)

Thanks are due to Bek and the wonderfully diverse people on this list.

I think one of the key issues with my healing process was that I always
kept the belief that one day I would get better. Even though I may
always carry recurrant glandular fever, and have to stay intuned with my
body - life is so much better now, and the frustrations associated with
the DD are disappearing.

I will stay on the mailing list for a short while longer, and be
removing myself within a week or two.

Lotsa...

Michael.

The sugar in Bananas (fructose) is more easily handled by the body then
sucrose (table sugar) is, and doesn't leave your blood sugar levels in a
sorry state of affairs like sucrose.

All the best...

Michael.

Congratulations. I'm sure messages like this give people hope, and I may not
be too far behind you either. I'm working part time (for myself, but still
putting in the hours none the less) and getting stronger every day. Best of
luck for your future.

Reply-To: ozme at tertius.net.au

Hi

Don't even mention my case ------

Just thought I'd pass on a couple of things which have been useful.

Had some kinesiology recently and haven't had another fever (lots and lots
of them in the last year). I was getting desperate enough to front an
infectious disease specialist half-willing to use a potent anti-viral and
this is much better! That may be coincidence but I'm pleased for now and
will keep you posted.

I have also got a much clearer picture of how to do some useful thinking
work (take time off, recreate, not just rest and work). I put the good
sense also down to the kinesiology. Since I have been telling everybody in
my support network for 15 months what I was doing (essentially working and
resting) and none of those conversations helped me to realise how foolish
that was, I think it's quite likely the kinesiology had something to do
with it.

The other thing is that I sprained an ankle a couple of weeks ago (which is
a story in itself) and had some "shock" type symptoms and so used arnica
ointment (very useful) and rescue remedy plus arnica drops in SALINE not
alcohol.

I took them under the tongue - the saline seemed to help my NMH which
indicates that swallowing salt tablets wasn't working - presumably my
stomach doesn't absorb, so now I take the salt tablets under the tongue.

Even more brilliant is that I used the drops when I'd had a bad diesel
exposure (in central Sydney) which had started to make me cranky and crying
- after the drops I could feel my throat choked but I kept a straight face
- very suitable when dealing with others.

I thought that might have been a fluke but used them today when I
unexpectedly encountered perfume which had knocked out my thinking - which
returned quite quickly compared to the usual hours - while still exposed.

Vitamin C never really worked for either situation - presumably because it
wasn't absorbed. Nor was tri salts much use. It's great to have found a
quick fix!

I still intend to avoid chemicals where possible but really like the idea
of being able to function more in the polluted world when I choose.

Best wishes

Alexa
