[Mailman-Users] 554 / unknown mailer 2 error

I have the following problem:

I recently converted over 100+ mailing lists from listproc.

I have a list, let's call it 'foobar-wiz', that's got the following
/etc/aliases entry:

foobar-wiz: "|/local/mailman/mail/wrapper post foobar-wiz"

If you send email to it, it works fine (as do all the other lists
on the server).

If you put in an alias like this, into /etc/aliases:

foobar-test: foobar-wiz at godlike.com

email to foobar-test at godlike.com gets sent to foobar-wiz just fine.

However, if, instead of directly aliasing, /etc/alaises :include:'s a
file which has that same alias, the message bounces back to
foobar-wiz-admin with the following:

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
"|/local/mailman/mail/wrapper post foobar-wiz"
(expanded from: foobar-wiz at godlike.com)

----- Transcript of session follows -----
554 "|/local/mailman/mail/wrapper post foobar-wiz"... unknown mailer error 2

That file that is :include:'d normally is owned by user foobar, group
users; the file is not setuid. chgrp'ing the file to group mailman
does not fix the problem.

This is sendmail 8.9.3, mailman 1.0 and python 1.5.2. I'm sure this
is a permissions problem somewhere, but I'm not sure where; mailman
never sees the message at all, since it's bounced at the sendmail layer.
There is no error message from sendmail in the system log (though I am
not doing extensive sendmail logging).

Anyone have any idea what's wrong?
