[Mailman-Users] check_perms error

I assume you mean "per the INSTALL file".

1) where did you install mailman (i.e. what is $prefix)
2) where are you running check_perms from?
3) is there a paths.py in the same directory as check_perms?
4) try python -v bin/check_perms from $prefix.
