[Mailman-Users] mailman2.0beta6 and exim

Help!

I followed the contens of INSTALL. And I followed the
HOWTO "exim and mailman" from www.exim.org

Everything worked fine until the point:
"Now create your first mailing list test"
The thing that does not work is that the admin notification
never reaches its destination.

I tried it with the entries in /etc/aliases and without them.

No exim logfiles show up an entry. So I suggest the mail
never reached exim at all.

The mailman logs look like:

$prefix/log/post:
Sep 26 23:19:07 2000 (30227) post to test from
mailman-owner at physnet.uni-hamburg.de, size=1342, 1 failures
Sep 26 23:20:11 2000 (30230) post to test from
mailman-owner at physnet.uni-hamburg.de, size=1342, 1 failures
Sep 26 23:21:07 2000 (30250) post to test from
mailman-owner at physnet.uni-hamburg.de, size=1342, 1 failures
(this repeats every minute)

$prefix/log/smtp:
Sep 26 23:22:06 2000 (30258) All recipients refused: host not found
Sep 26 23:22:07 2000 (30258) smtp for 1 recips, completed in 0.056 seconds
Sep 26 23:23:07 2000 (30266) All recipients refused: host not found
Sep 26 23:23:07 2000 (30266) smtp for 1 recips, completed in 0.061 seconds
Sep 26 23:24:06 2000 (30275) All recipients refused: host not found
Sep 26 23:24:06 2000 (30275) smtp for 1 recips, completed in 0.058 seconds
(this repeates every minute too)

$prefix/log/smtp-failure:
Sep 26 23:22:07 2000 (30258) -1 winter at physnet.uni-hamburg.de (ignore)
Sep 26 23:23:07 2000 (30266) -1 winter at physnet.uni-hamburg.de (ignore)
Sep 26 23:24:06 2000 (30275) -1 winter at physnet.uni-hamburg.de (ignore)
(and this repeats although)

My configuration in detail:

exim:
=====

exim runs as user=mail and group=mail
Mail-Relaying from localhost is allowed.

snip of /exim/configure:
------------------------------------------------
MAILMAN_HOME=/PHYSnet/local/mman

# wrapper script for mailman
MAILMAN_WRAP=MAILMAN_HOME/mail/wrapper

# user and group for mailman
MAILMAN_UID=mail
MAILMAN_GID=mail
------------------------------------------------
snap

mailman:
========

I used the following command:
./configure --prefix=my_path --with-mail-gid=mail --with-cgi-gid=nobody

Can someone please help me? I am really out of glue.
