[Mailman-Users] Welcome message and approval notification mails not being sent

I have a RH 7.1 box running mailman-2.0.6.  It does most of the tasks 
assigned to it, with the exceptoin of two...

1 - It puts messages that need approval in the approval queue, but does 
not notify the list admin they need to approve them.
2 - When adding a new user through the web interface and selecting to 
send the new user a welcome message, it succesfully adds the     user, 
however does not send the welcome message to them.

After looking through the sendmail logs and other logs, it looks like 
neither of the failed messages is even making it to the MTA. The two 
problems seem to be related... Anyone know if I'm missing something?
