 Hello,
We have some questions regarding List Servers being tied into our database
and its functionality.

My name is Charles. I am with Turpentyne Productions, a web-design company.
We have developed a program to help our customers with their E-mail
marketing campaigns. The program is based in Java (.jsp files). This is
permission-based E-mail, meaning we want the end-recipients to be able to
delete themselves from our database if they wish to.

Some of the features our customers can use are: adding/deleting/editing
e-mail addresses in their own list. In the future, we also plan to give them
reports of click-throughs, bounce backs, and so forth. Each one of our
customers has the potential of from 500- 50,000 emails. There will be
approximately 50 or more emails going out every month, overall.

Our site and database is hosted by Servlets.net, and is in a shared
environment. Servlets.net already uses Mailman as its list server. We are
interested in using Mailman as our list server for multiple customers.

Is it possible to tie in the ‘Mailman’ List Manager with our MySQL database
and our java programming? What resources are available to help us in doing
so?

Currently, we are sending our HTML E-mails without any list server. As a
result, we are encountering numerous problems that include: Enlarged file
sizes, AOL doesn’t read HTML messages properly, slow sending speed, and
other errors. Can you tell us if and maybe how Mailman can solve these
problems?

I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your time,
effort and support.

Regards,
Charles
