I would be interested to know what would happen.
I suspect that attachments would not be handled well in non-MIME
format, and that the only solution to your problem is to modify the
mailman digestifier code so that it uses inline MIME multipart/mixed
bodyparts, but I don't know what it would take to make it do that.
Certainly, many incoming messages might have to be changed (since
on a per-message basis, having all the attachments at the bottom
shouldn't be a problem). This would most likely break PGP signed
messages, and I'm not sure what might happen to others.
