Usually the mail alias definitions output by the list creation process do
the job. You must have an MTA such as Sendmail or Postfix running on your
Mailman server. The mail alias definitions refer to a Mailman delivery
script to be run by the MTA on your Mailman server when it has incoming
email for one of a list's aliases.

Assuming you are running MM 2.1.x
Are you using the MM site password or did you define a list creation
password by $prefix/bin/mmsitepass with the -c option and use that?
