I'm pretty sure that there is an updated mailman rpm for redhat 9. Hmm,
looking quickly it's fixed in rawhide but hasn't been released as an errata
yet.

You might either want to roll your own rpm or get the 2.1.2 tarball and
install that way. Then you can be more sure that any problem you have are
not coming from sloppy packaging.
