[Matplotlib-devel] traits lite?

I recall conversations about using a lightweight version of traits to
manage configuration, etc for MPL.

Whatever became of that? Im interested because I could use  lightweight
traits-like sytem for another project -- wondering it it's been built
already.

my google-fu is totally failing me on this one.
