[MATRIX-SIG] Printing BUG?

   Thanks.  That fixed things.  What I still don't understand is why it worked when I
   was printing x, and failed when I was printing x[0].  Shouldn't the conversion to
   integer have failed in both places?

In the other case exponential format was already selected due to a different
criterion (large difference between the numbers).
