[Matrix-SIG] Core dump with NumPy 1.1 and Python 1.5.1 on DEC Alpha

A colleague working on a DEC Alpha is trying to update his Python
installation to 1.5.1 and NumPy 1.1. Everything compiles fine, but
when he runs "python LinearAlgebra.py", the first test comes out very
wrong, and then Python crashes. The same test works fine on any other
machine I use, and also with Python 1.4 and the original NumPy on the
same Alpha. Everything else in NumPy seems to work correctly,
including FFT stuff.

Is anyone else experiencing similar problems? I don't really know
where to start looking for the reason.
