[medusa] Medusa hangings waiting on keystroke!!!

Perhaps its not medusa related at all: If you're running anything in
a text window on windows and select a portion with the mouse or scroll
back in the window I've noticed that it hangs the process within until
you hit a key (causing the it to go out of selection or scroll back
mode). bad behaviour on windows part.
