I hope everyone will be happy with this. Thanks to all those folks who provided me with this info. :) I still need to hear from LA, Melb Wireless and OSV/OSIA folks (cars, reg #, driver). We hope to have a couple of people to help unload to ensure bump in runs smoothly and quickly. If you are interested in helping out with this please let me know. I also have another bump in document that includes all the details requested by MCC. If you'd like a copy, give me a hoy. Here is a summary. SFD Bump In Schedule - Sat Sept 16th ------------------------------------------------------------------ Group Time To Unload P. Time to Go ------------------------------------------------------------------ Computerbank 9.30 - 9.45am 5.50pm ------------------------------------------------------------------ Melbourne Wireless 9.45 - 10am 5.40pm ----------------------------------------------------------------- LUV/LA 10.00 - 10.15am 5.30pm ----------------------------------------------------------------- CMS 10.15 - 10.30am 5.00pm ----------------------------------------------------------------- OSV/OSIA 10.30 - 10.45am 5.10pm ----------------------------------------------------------------- OSDC/PERL MONGERS/PHP 10.45 - 11am 5.20pm ----------------------------------------------------------------- P=Proposed. People can probably leave when they want, especially if not needing to use loading area facilities. Some folks might want to leave early, I'm sure that will be okay. I suggest that OSV/OSIA members coordinate together so that only one person ends up driving equipment in. Ditto for LUV/LA. Jacinta/Paul have been doing a great job coordinating for OSDC/Perl/etc. :) Groups who need to catch up before going in (car pooling) could also meet at Computerbank if this would help. Computerbank is pretty close to the North Melbourne train station and would save you $$ on city parking costs. If anyone is interested in doing this, let me know and we can organise something. _Walk-ins_ Linuxchix MLUG Indymedia OzZope Ballarat Linux Users Ubuntu AU Others? If you think you might have trouble walking stuff in and I haven't slotted you on the bump in schedule, get in touch with me. I can make arrangements for you to drop stuff off at Computerbank and we can ferry it in (so you'd need to be dropping it off really early or on Friday night). If you have any questions about bump in/out please ask away. If you need something changed or you forgot to update me please get in touch asap. :) Cheers, Kylie PS: Look out for an update on display arrangements and testing and tagging tomorrow (er, later today even). The floor plan won't be finalised until Monday (one more visit to the town hall). From mailkylie at optushome.com.au Fri Sep 8 15:53:37 2006 From: mailkylie at optushome.com.au (Kylie Davies) Date: Fri, 08 Sep 2006 23:53:37 +1000 Subject: [melbourne-pug] test and tag at town hall between 10am-11am, AV, bandwidth and stall arrangements Message-ID: <1157723617.2151.65.camel@localhost.localdomain> Hi folks, Couple more things to update you on: _Test and Tag of Equipment_ Big thanks to Mike from Melb Wireless who has kindly offered to test and tag stall holders cords. He has also tested a whole heap of standard cords, powerboards and extension cords that will be available for use on the day. If you need to plug a device or laptop in to power please turn up at the town hall between 10-11am to get your cord tested. Attendees will need to run their laptops on battery. _Bandwidth_ We are hoping to raise enough in donations/sponsorship to pay for the bandwidth we've organised through Melb City Council ($200 for the day). Melbourne Wireless will be providing access points (this is great!). The bandwidth is said to be pretty decent. We'll know more about the connection on Monday. _Table Set up - Inside the Hall_ Trestle table arrangements go something like this: Registration desk = 1 table Computerbank = 1 table CMS/Indymedia = 1 table LUV/Linuxchix/LA/MLUG/Ballarat LUG - 2 tables OSV/OSIA/Ubuntu-Au - 2 tables OSDC/Perl/PHP/Python/OzZope - 2 tables Kids Zone = 1 table Melbourne Wireless = 1 table The trestles will be set up with a white table cloth. We are able to bring in extra trestles and display boards if we want. I will post the final floor plan on Tuesday. Stuff going on MCC display boards (only 4 available) will need to use velcro dots. Computerbank will bring dots along. MCC will supply water for stall holders. I'm still unsure about food (will update you Tuesday), but attendees with drinks are okay. Melb Wireless are requesting a whiteboard, Computerbank has one but it is a clunker. Can anyone else help out with whiteboards? A couple more would be good to have. _AV_ Lastly, Donna (CC) is supplying a projector on the day and Computerbank volunteers, Cloud and Rob, have a PA and microphone. (Thanks folks!). We are hiring the projector screen from MCC for $60. _Other Stuff_ On Monday at 2pm, we are going along to the town hall for a final visit. If anyone would like to come along, please get in touch. Finally, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me. Happy for you to call on the mobile too - 0412 099 304. :) More news next Tuesday. Cheers! I hope that you get some new members from the day and that the cause of free software goes on. Kylie did a great job of putting the day together, although we all need to focus a little more on getting the word out in advance of the day for next year. If you'd like to be more involved next year, then now is a good time to volunteer your help. It would be grand if we could get the same kind of attendance next year that VTR used to get to their user group open days. I have done the theoretical aspects of it till now and now thinking of coding it . I would like to code in Python , but i am new to Python Network Programming . Some of features of my project are: 1. Each robot can send data to any other robot. 2. Each robot can receive data from any other robot. 3. Every Robot has atleast 1 other bot in its communication range. 4. maximum size of a data packet is limited to 35 bytes 5. each mobile robot maintains a table with routes 6. all the routes stored in the routing table include a ??eld named life-time. 7. Route Discovery Process initiated if there is no known route to other bot. 8. There is no server over here . 9. every bot should be able to process the data from other bots and both multicast/unicast need to be supported. Assume the environment is gridded mesh and bots exploring the area. They need to perform a set of tasks (assume finding some locations which are dangerous or smthing like that). My main concern is how to go about modifying the headers such that everything fits in 35bytes . I would like to know how to proceed and if any links or resources in this regard. How to modify the headers ? ie. all in 35 bytes . Thank You, Raja. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
