sorry, point taken.  we use threads usefully every day too :-/

it just worries me when such a fundamental thing (IMO) as threads only
half works.  it'd be very unfortunate if we had to document stuff as
MT-Safe or otherwise throughout python.

especially with something so widely used as the GUI library.
