Summary: Authentication through LDAP
Initial Comment:
MoinMoin lacks support for authentication through LDAP,
which could be very useful for environments where LDAP
is being used.

There are patches which enable automatic account creation:

Using HTTP basic authentication with mod_ldap works,
but it wouldn't create MoinMoin users automatically.
Additionally, configuring HTTP authentication globally
with a <Location> statement prevents anonymous
read-only browsing of the Wiki.

Do you use Apache? Then you can easily setup LDAP with
mod_ldap. There have been numerous reports about a working
installation.
We might introduce native LDAP authentication in 1.4
