I think this is yet-another-feature-that-2.0-will-solve. :)

Currently metadata and data are all on the page. We will split off
metadata in 2.0 and thus this will get solved then. Until then, maybe
just use that hint or do not use acls there. If somebody edits the
template, you can revert it.
