[New-bugs-announce] [issue22288] Incorrect Call grammar in documentation

Martijn Pieters report at bugs.python.org
Wed Aug 27 12:55:55 CEST 2014

New submission from Martijn Pieters:

The changes for issue #3473 introduced a documentation bug. The Call expression grammar implies that f(*[1, 2], *[3, 4]) is allowed:

| "*" `expression` ["," "*" `expression`] ["," "**" `expression`]

I think Benjamin meant to use:

| "*" `expression` ["," `keyword_arguments `] ["," "**" `expression`]

instead, see the corresponding commit for Python 3.x: http://hg.python.org/cpython/diff/6abada05c313/Doc/reference/expressions.rst
